Governmental Affairs Committee
Meets: 1st Tuesday, (Every Other Month) at 4:00 PM, at the Chamber

Mission: To promote a coordinated effort with local, state and federal governments to address core issues of local significance for business development and retention

Economic Development
Meets: 1st Tuesday, (Every Other Month) at 5:00 PM, at the Chamber.

Mission
: To develop a strategic plan to create a sustainable, regional economy

1- Develop information package on both cities to attract new busines
2- Focus on our industries - HARB, Agriculture, Turkey Point, Speedway, Tourism,  Education



Marketing Committee
Meets: Last Tuesday (Every Month) at 4:00PM, at the Chamber.

Mission: To create a regional marketing plan that will highlight Cities of Homestead/Florida City and Chamber businesses

1- Helping the Chamber maximize its ability to communicate its message to the membership, community and governmental entities
2- Assist in formulating rollouts for new Chamber projects, (Website & Community Resource Guide) assist with web content, appearance and advice in collateral and branding

Military Affairs Committee
Meets: 1st Thursday (Every Month) at 11:30AM - 1:00PM lunch - at The HARB Falcon’s Nest.

:  To enhance the quality of life for military personnel and their families in our community.

Membership Committee
Meets: Last Wednesday (Every Month) at 5:30 PM, at the Chamber

Mission
: To welcome new and potential members, and to encourage members who are not participating or may be dropping.

Special Events Committee
Meets:  2nd Tuesday (Every Month) at 4:00PM, at the Chamber.

Mission: To rise funds for the Chamber and to create and maintain a lively interaction among members 

1- Fundraisers
2- Coordinate with Staff and the Speakers & Programs Committee organizing Trustee   Events, Ribbon Cuttings and Special events as planned
3- Volunteer Coordination (Ambassadors, etc.)                                           


Speakers & Programs
Meets:  3rd Tuesday, (Every other month) at 8:00 AM, at the Chamber
Chair, Sharon Wilson, Combank Mortgage Co, Swilson@communitybankfl.com 

Mission: Offer more engaging, interesting speakers on topics important to our community that educate and inform members 

1- Identifies speakers and themes for all Monthly Luncheons & Special Events
2- Coordinate with Chamber Staff and Special Events Committee choosing entertainment and event logistics.

Green Committee and Health and Wellness
Meeting dates to be determined
Chair – Daneille Torres, Hampton Inn & Suites

Mission – To provide awareness, education and connections to green resources. To promote education of health and fitness issues to businesses, organizations, schools and the community.

1- Create awareness of green business practices and programs and their financial and environmental benefits.
2- Educate the business community about ECO sustainability through our website, newsletter, workshops and new business practices.
3- Provide tools and resources to its members to promote healthier lifestyles for all.

 

Education and Workforce Development
Meets:  3rd Wednesday, (Every other month) at 8:30 AM, at the Chamber
Chair – Dr. Jean Jacobs, Miami Dade College -Homestead  and Co Chairs Susana Vela and Nazy Ramallo-Sierra, MSEd    

Mission- To ensure that the region’s education and workforce development and programs align the region’s target industry needs.
